The CIDG, particularly the NCR Field Unit together with the PNP-ACG established a Communication Center tasked to contact and locate all the domestic flights co-passengers of the Chinese couple who were confirmed to be infected by the 2019 nCorona Virus in the country.

This is in compliance with the instruction of the Chief, PNP, PGEN ARCHIE FRANCISCO GAMBOA to CIDG Director, PMGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL to coordinate with the DOH regarding the tracing and locating the different passengers who came in with the said Chinese couple.

Among the 61 passengers on board the Cebu Pacific flight CEBDG 6519 from Cebu to Dumaguete City (January 21, 2020), the CIDG has already contacted twenty-three (23) passengers, of which, three (3) were confirmed to have manifested signs and symptoms of the respiratory infection.

For the 132 passengers of PAL 2542 from Dumaguete City to Manila (January 25, 2020), twenty-five (25) passengers were already contacted, three (3) of which are now on quarantine in different hospitals.

All passengers who have been contacted by the CIDG were advised to avoid unnecessary contact with people and stay at home as much as possible. They were also asked to monitor themselves for fever, colds and cough; and observe proper hygiene, to wear masks and immediately contact the Department of Health (DOH) if they experience any signs and symptoms of respiratory infection.

The said communication center is continuously in search of possible ways in tracing the other passengers. ###
