Acting on the directives of the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for the continuous conduct of intensified police operations against graft and corruption, detectives of CIDG based in Surigao Del Sur together with RMFB13 and Lingig MPS arrested former Municipal Treasurer of Lingig, Surigao Del Sur in the morning of June 15, 2021 in his residence in Brgy Poblacion, Lingig.
EBRENCIO INDOYON JR y FIJO was charged before the Sandiganbayan along with Mayor ROBERTO M LUNA, Executive Assistant JETHRO P LINDO, Municipal Accountant VENUS M CARLOS, Disbursing Officer NILDA TANGCAAG FERRANDO, and one (1) deceased accused for violation of RA 3019 otherwise known as the Corrupt Practices of Public Officers. Hon. Amparo M Cabotaje-Tang, Presiding Justice/Chairperson of Third Division of Sandiganbayan, Quezon City issued a Warrant of Arrest (WOA) for their arrest under SB-10-CRM-0111 dated May 21, 2021 with NO BAIL recommended.
62-year-old INDOYON and his co-accused were involved in the disbursement of over Php1.6 million as payment for the honoraria and per diem of 101 non-existing job order workers from January to April 2004. The anomaly was discovered by the then HRMO, LEONOR “Tata” OTAGAN who filed a complaint before the Civil Service Commission (CSC). The complaint was later forwarded to the Office of the Ombudsman and the Commission on Audit (COA) was directed to conduct an audit and later filed the case.
INDOYON was escorted and transported from Surigaro Del Sur to Camp Crame today, July 7, 2021 for his RT-PCR test prior his presentation to Sandiganbayan and the return of WOA.
The CIDG, in its full swing efforts in relation to Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) has garnered a total of six (6) police operations resulting to the arrest of seven (7) individuals including Government Officials/Employees and fixers, and five (5) cases filed.
