A Private Armed Group (PAG) in Maguindanao was disbanded when its leader and his members voluntarily surrendered to the members of CIDG RFU BAR, Maguindanao PPO, PNPDEG, DIPO, RIU15, PIU-Maguindanao, RCLO BAR, TOG 12, FS-EM 300 AISW, and Datu Saudi Ampatuan MPS on Tuesday afternoon (August 10, 2021, at around 4:40 PM) at the Municipal Hall, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao.

The surrender of TAMANO MAMALAPAT, the leader of the “Tamano Mamalapat Group” and his six (6) members identified as BUTUKAN LATIP DODI, ADAN DIBALATEN MAMALAPAT, TOTO BELA BUGADO, ABIDIN SABANG GUIMAT, FAHAD TALUYAN ASI, and BHOTS GUIMAT TIPAY was initiated by the CIDG RFU BAR in coordination and full support of the LGU thereat and jointly spearheaded by PMGEN ALBERT IGNATIUS D FERRO, CIDG Director and Municipal Mayor Edris S Sindatok of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao.

“Ikinagagalak po natin ang pagsuko ng grupo ni Mamalapat. Ito ay tagumpay di lamang ng nasabing grupo pati na ng ating pamahalaan sa kadahilanang ang pagsuko po nila ay malaking tulong sa ating kapulisan at sa ating komunidad upang mabawasan ang kriminalidad at sa pagkakaroon ng kaayusan at kapayapaan sa lugar,” says CIDG Director.

Along with their surrender, the group also surrendered the following:

- One (1) M16 Rifle;
- One (1) M79;
- Two (3) caliber .30 M1 Garand Rifles; and
- One (1) Improvised Barret.

Likewise earlier that day, the Municipal Mayor of Ampatuan, Maguindanao, Bai Leah G Sangki turned over the following high-powered firearms :

- Two (2) ELISCO M16A1 rifles;
- Three (3) caliber .30M1 GARAND rifles;
- One (1) homemade caliber .30 muzzle rifle (bolt action);
- One (1) homemade shotgun;
- One (1) M203 Grenade Launcher/Tube; and
- One (1) homemade caliber .9mm UZI sub-machine gun.

PMGEN FERRO said that the surrender is made possible due to the relentless efforts of the CIDG, the PNP in general, and the Government in reaching out to the communities, expressing and communicating to them the Government’s anti-criminality programs to end all forms of violence in our country.
