The Vice Mayor of San Isidro, Leyte was arrested by joint operatives of the CIDG Northern Leyte PFU, CIDG Biliran PFU, CIDG RFU8, and San Isidro MPS during the implementation of Search Warrant (SW) on August 19, 2021 (Thursday) at around 8:45 AM in Sitio Baras, Brgy. Matungao, San Isidro, Leyte.

The said SW issued by Hon. MANASSEH S. BASTES, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Br. 11, Calubian, Leyte was implemented against 57-year-old ISIDRO BALMORIA y CASTRO who was in possession and control of the following pieces of evidence:

 One(1) caliber .45 Colt MK IV;
 One (1) caliber .38 revolver;
 One (1) caliber .380 LLAMA;
 Eight (8) magazine assemblies for different calibers;
 One hundred seventy-six (176) rounds of assorted ammunition;
 One (1) caliber .45 barrel; and
 One (1) silencer/suppressor.

The police operation was done in an orderly and peaceful manner, witnessed by the Brgy Officials thereat and recorded in the body-worn camera used by the police.

A case for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Law) will be filed against Vice Mayor Balmoria.

“Walang masama sa pagmamay-ari ng iba’t ibang klase ng baril, siguraduhin lamang ninyo na kayo ay lisensyado at may pahintulot na magmay-ari at magdala nito. Failure on your part to possess these firearms legally will mean that the CIDG and other law enforcers have the grounds to hold you accountable for loose firearms violations,” said CIDG Director, PMGEN ALBERT IGNATIUS D FERRO.
