Early morning today (August 25, 2021), a Search Warrant (SW) for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law) was implemented by the CIDG Maguindanao PFU together with CIDG Cotabato CFU, RIU15, Maguindanao-PIU, Maguindanao Maritime Police Station, TOG 12, FS-EM 300 AISW, Philippine Coast Guard District BARMM, and Matanog MPS in Brgy Kidama Matanog, Maguindanao.

The said SW was served against a Murder suspect identified as OTING M SAWAL, who, upon arrival of the operatives resisted to cooperate leading to a firefight between him and the authorities that resulted in his death.

A caliber .30 Carbine, four (4) Carbine magazines (1 long and 3 short), and forty (40) rounds of ammunition were recovered from the crime scene. The PNP Crime Laboratory processed the said crime scene.

In a report submitted to PMGEN ALBERT IGNATIUS D FERRO, CIDG Director revealed that SAWAL was responsible for the killing of Christopher Aldamar sometime June 2021 in Sitio Kabugao, Brgy. Sapad, Matanog, Maguindanao wherein a case for Murder was filed against him at the Maguindanao Prosecution Office with NPS Docket Nr. XIV-05-INV-21F-03214.

“We cannot deny the dangers faced by our men in uniform whenever they engage in any police operations. We oath to enforce the law against criminals regardless of the risks we have to face,” says PMGEN FERRO.
