In a 24-hour manhunt operation, three (3) individuals including one (1) Most Wanted Person (MWP) were separately arrested by joint operatives of the CIDG and other PNP units on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in Batangas, Zamboanga and Camarines Sur.

At around 8:10 AM in Brgy Balakilong, Laurel, Batangas, RONEL ESCAL y VILLANUEVA a.k.a. “Ronnel Villanueva Escal was arrested for violation of Art II, Sec 12 of RA 9165 and Alarm and Scandal (RPC Art. 155) in the Warrant of Arrest (WOA) issued by Hon. Nevic C Adolfo, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 83, Tanauan City, Batangas with CC Nos. 15-02-7809, 15-03-7920.

While, RICO SAMANTE y ALQUEZAR who is wanted for nine (9) counts of Rape (RPC Art. 266-A) in the WOA issued by Hon. Analyn Fernando Ramas-Costanilla, Presiding Judge of RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur with CC Nos. 2021-10-4263 to 2021-10-4271, was arrested at about 3:00 PM in Purok 1, Brgy. Pugwan, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Suspect SALDY DELOS SANTOS JR. y ARENA was arrested at around 9:30 PM in Brgy. Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City, Camarines Sur for three (3) counts of Acts of Lasciviousness in rel. to Sec. 5(b) of RA 7610 with CC Nos. 2021-0738 to 2021-0740 and for Rape in rel. to Sec. 5(b) of RA 7610 in the WOAs issued by Hon. Agaton S. Fajardo, Presiding Judge of RTC Br. 6 (FC), Fifth Judicial Region Naga City, Camarines Sur under CC No. 2021-0741.

Accordingly, ESCAL who is listed as the No. 5 Provincial Level MWP in Batangas is said to be a member of the “Quijano Group” involved in the proliferation of Illegal Drugs and Loose Firearms in the said Province.
