In the early morning of November 23, 2021, composite teams from CIDG PFU Lanao del Sur, PFU Misamis Occidental, and Ozamis City Police Station arrested the former Vice Mayor of Picong, Lanao del Sur, who is now a candidate for Mayor of the adjacent town of Malabang, Lanao del Sur.

Alinader Balindong y Mariam, a.k.a. “Badar,” was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by Hon. Alberto P. Quinto, Designated Judge of Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 11, Malabang, Lanao del Sur issued on November 10, 2021, for the crime of Murder docketed under Criminal Case No. 0816-2021 with no bail recommended, and Frustrated Murder docketed under Criminal Case No. 0817-2021 with 200,000 recommended bail.

The arresting team gathered that Balindong’s arrest warrants are relative to the killing of a market administrator of Malabang, Lanao del Sur, in 2020.

The 67-year-old Balindong was arrested at Misamis University Medical Center in Barangay Bagakay, Ozamis City, where he will remain confined after his counsel presented an Interim Order with a Granted Motion for his hospital arrest issued by Hon. Alberto P. Quinto dated November 22, 2021.

The operation for the arrest of Balindong was launched in connection with CIDG’s Oplan Pagtugis, an operational plan for the arrest of wanted persons.

He stressed that the “Oplan Pagtugis or our campaign against wanted Persons” had been effective and successful due to strong partnership with responsible Citizens. He further encouraged all CIDG units to sustain the effort of engaging the community to further enhance their active participation in providing vital information in locating wanted persons.
