Justice is finally served when the CIDG operatives successfully arrested a grandfather who molested his own granddaughter more than 1000 times.

CIDG Catanduanes PFU operatives took the lead with Caramoran MPS in arresting a 63-year-old fisherman tagged as region 5’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person in the afternoon of March 2, 2022 in Brgy. Supang, Caramoran, Catanduanes. Alias "Alex” was arrested by virtue of Warrants of Arrest (WOAs) all issued by Hon. Genie Gapas-Agbada of RTC 5th Judicial Region, Br 42, Virac, Catanduanes for the following criminal offenses:

- 900 counts of Statutory Rape under Art 266-A para 1(d) of the RPC;
- 382 counts of Rape under Art 266-A para 1(a) of the RPC;
- 55 counts of Rape; and
- 150 counts of Statutory Rape.

The suspect began his malicious and heinous intent against his own granddaughter who was then only a Grade 3 student back in June 2016. After that carnal incident, the suspect threatened the victim that he would kill her by stabbing her if she tries to tell anyone.

That lewd and lascivious act continued for 64 months from July 2016 up to October 2021, where he abused the victim 20 times every month. But in the afternoon of November 6, 2021, after another abuse from his grandfather, the victim, who can no longer bear what was done to her, finally sought the help of her relatives.

PBGen Eliseo DC Cruz, the Director of the CIDG said, “Being abused and molested once is hell to begin with–– how much more for a defenseless child who had gone through the trauma for 1,487 times. The victim suffered for years, unable to fend herself from the physical, emotional, and psychological damage this immoral act has inflicted. At that, we encourage everyone especially victims to report any incident of abuse or crime being committed as CIDG will serve diligently Justice to all victims of abuse and criminal acts and will likewise continue to arrest and put all suspects behind bars so that our people or communities will feel comfortable and safe."
