On March 12, 2022, CIDG Quezon PFU in coordination with other PNP Units filed five cases before the Office of the Tayabas City Prosecutor’s Office, Quezon Province on March 12, 2022, against the following respondents for violation of RA 10883, New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016; Kidnapping and Homicide; and Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention; Presidential Decree No. 1829 (Obstruction of Justice); and Art. V, Section 28, Paragraph E (1) of R.A. 10591:

Ranilex Ramirez Mendoza alias "Abong Ramirez Mendoza";

As a backgrounder, on December 30, 2021 at around 7:00 in the morning, Rodrigo Melana Dueña II’s lifeless body was discovered at Sitio Dos Barangay Ibabang Bukal, Tayabas City while Rodrigo’s companion, Jaime Mimay Faramil, went missing until this date.

Following the leads from the interviews, CCTV footage, social media and online exploitations gathered during the investigation, and through the Warrant to Disclose Computer Data,
a search warrant was implemented and witnessed by Barangay Officials assisted by HPG RFU 4A and Laguna HPT on February 4, 2022, at HPG Laguna Impounding Area, near Mayapa exit, Barangay Paciano Rizal, Calamba City.
