The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group together with the complainants and witnesses appeared before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on April 11, 2022, and filed cases for Kidnapping/Serious Illegal Detention and Robbery with Intimidation and by a Band against 5 police personnel who were formerly members of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), Laguna PPO and several John Does.
The suspects were positively identified by the witnesses based on their statements and other pieces of evidence as to the group of men who entered the house of Ricardo Ricarfort Lasco a.k.a. “Jun”. Said group introduced themselves as NBI personnel and then arrested the victim by virtue of a document purported to be a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Large Scale Estafa, on the morning of August 30, 2021, in Barangay San Lucas 1, San Pablo City, Laguna.
Suspects also took with them numerous personal belongings of the victim and his relatives amounting to more or less Php500,000.00 and cash amounting to Php180,000.00.
Ricardo Ricarfort Lasco is a Master Agent of e-Sabong and a Real Estate Agent who went missing after being abducted by the said suspects.
Five (5) cases were received by a duty prosecutor and docketed under Nos. XVI-INV-22D-00193 for Kidnapping/Serious Illegal Detention and XVI-INV-22D-00192, 00194-00196 for Robbery with Intimidation and by a Band.
The CIDG is continuously gathering information to trace and locate the victim while a continuous investigation is being conducted on the identified suspects, especially on their connection with unscrupulous groups. Meanwhile, investigators are relentless in identifying the remaining suspect for filing appropriate charges against the perpetrators.
