The CIDG Isabela PFU, local PNP units, and the Philippine Army welcomes a member of the CTG after she voluntarily left the insurgent group she had joined for over four (4) decades on the afternoon of April 13, 2022 (Wednesday) at Camp Lt Rosauro D. Toda Jr, Baligatan, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

58-year-old Hermilina Fuentes Cabico a.k.a “Lina” along with a 12-gauge shotgun personally appeared before the authorities at the Office of the said CIDG unit to withdraw her support to Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley (KR-CV).

Cabico, in her revelation, was recruited by the then Finance Head of KR-CV, Irene Agcaoili a.k.a. “Ayang” or “Ining” sometime in October of 1980 and issued her the said shotgun. She was tasked to collect food and other stuff for the group. In 1991 she became a full-pledge member when she took her oath as Ganap na Kasapi of Militiang Bayan where she was designated as Paniktik (Spy). She underwent training in Batayang Kursong Pangmasa conducted by @ “Ka Arnel” the same year in Old San Mariano, Isabela.

In 2000, Cabico underwent the ESKUM2 under Agcaoili and then joined the NPA’s medical mission initiated by Agcaoili and a certain @ “Ka Maya”. On May 2010, she attended the DAGAMI meeting in Brgy Ueg, also in San Mariano, Isabela. Cabico continuously supported the said terrorist group under Agcaoili by providing information regarding the presence of government troops in the area from 2011 until February of 2021.

The return of Cabico to the folds of the law was due to the efforts of the CIDG, the local PNP units, and the Army to facilitate such an important episode. And through Project S.A.G.I.P., the returnee can finally live freely with her family and community.

The CIDG under the stewardship of its Director, PMGen Eliseo DC Cruz will sustain its efforts to support the E.O. 70 (NTF-ELCAC) to attain inclusive and sustainable peace within the nation.
