In a buy-bust operation, police operatives of CIDG Bacolod City along with the local police, arrested three (3) gunrunners on Saturday (April 30, 2022) afternoon in Sitio Kakahoyan, Brgy. Bato, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the suspects as SAMUEL SERRA NINTE a.k.a. “Botsoy”, a 52-year-old businessman; JOHNRET DALAORAO CARLOS a.k.a. “Toto”, a 32-year- old carpenter; and JOMAR MANZA ALICO a.k.a. "Jomar", a 29-year-old salesman.

The trio was arrested for selling a 12-gauge shotgun, a homemade 12-gauge pistol, a caliber .38 revolver snub-nose Smith & Wesson, several rounds of ammunition, and a holster.

They were also been found to be in possession and control of the marked money included in the cash amounting to Php16,900.00, a red backpack, and a cellular phone.

Investigators averred that alias “Botsoy” is the leader of the “Ninte Group” engaged in gun smuggling, gun-for-hire, and gunrunning activities in Negros Island while the two other suspects are the known members of the group.

As the NLE 2022 is just around the corner, the CIDG is ever been more vigorous and relentless in implementing its campaign against loose firearms and criminal groups, a measure that aims to curb election-related incidents and foil criminal groups from gaining from their illegal deeds.
