CIDG arrested Valencia City Bukidnon Department Head and his brother for firearms and explosives violation

By virtue of a Search Warrant, detectives of the CIDG Bukidnon and Regional Field Unit 10 along with the local police arrested a Department Head of Valencia City Government and his brother at 5:30 AM of May 11, 2022 in Purok 3, Brgy. Pinatilan, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The said warrant issued by Hon. Mirabeaus A. Undalok, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 43, 10th Judicial Region, Gingoog City for violation of RA 10591 and RA 9516 was implemented against ABE PORRAS GILLACO, 40 and his brother, HERNALITO PORRAS GILLACO, 52 who were found to be in possession and control of the following pieces of evidence:

- One (1) unit US rifle caliber .30 M1 Springfield Armory with SN: 2606712;
- One (1) unit ARMSCOR caliber .45 pistol with SN: 1359691;
- One (1) pc 40 mm (M203 grenade);
- One hundred twenty-three (123) rounds of assorted ammunition;
- One (1) box of caliber 5.56 mm rifle cartridge;
- One (1) box of caliber .45 cartridges ARMSCOR brand;
- Two (2) pcs fired cartridges shell of caliber 30 M1 rifle cartridges;
- Seven (7) steel clips for caliber 30 M1 rifle;
- Two (2) HICAP steel magazines for caliber .45 pistol;
- One (1) black inside holster for caliber .45 pistol;
- Two (2) sling bags; and
- One (1) Identification card bearing the name Hernalito P. Gillaco.

Meanwhile, the following items which were earlier recovered from the possession of Abe GILLACO were all found to be registered or licensed and have LTOPF upon verification by the police, then, later on, were properly turned over to said subject person:

- One (1) 12-gauge shotgun;
- One (1) caliber 9mm pistol;
- Two (2) caliber .45 pistols;
- One (1) long magazine for a 12-gauge shotgun loaded with nine (9) rounds of ammunition;
- One (1) short magazine for a 12-gauge shotgun loaded with five (5) rounds of ammunition;
- Twenty-five (25) rounds of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition;
- Three (3) magazines for caliber 9mm pistol, each loaded with eighteen (18) rounds of ammunition;
- Forty-four (44) rounds of caliber 9mm pistol ammunition;
- Two (2) magazines for caliber .45 pistol, each loaded with eight (8) rounds of ammunition;
- Two (2) magazines for caliber .45 pistol, each loaded with twelve (12) rounds of ammunition; and
- Forty (40) rounds of caliber .45 pistol ammunition.

According to reports, Abe GILLACO who is the Human Resource Management Officer of Valencia City Hall is a supporter of CTG and other political aspirants or candidates during the recently concluded NLE 2022 in the said province. He is also an underground purchaser of loose firearms used by political personalities in the province of Bukidnon.

Gillaco brothers and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to CIDG Bukidnon PFU Office for proper documentation and disposition while cases for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law) and RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives) are being prepared for Inquest Filing before the Office of the City Prosecutor, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The CIDG assures the public that its intensified anti-criminality efforts against loose firearms and radical groups including those affiliated with them will be sustained to curb offenders from menacing the peace and order in every community not just during the election period.
