58-year-old female personnel of the Land Transportation Office was arrested by operatives of the CIDG Quezon City Filed Unit together with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on Wednesday afternoon inside the LTO Novaliches District Office in Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quirino Highway, Quezon City.

The CIDG identified the lady suspect as Maria Fe Carpina Doringo, the designated Releasing and Receiving Officer of the said LTO Office, who based on the complaint lodged by ARTA representatives, is one of those who facilitate the speedy completion of Student Permits and Driver’s License transactions in exchange of money.

Surveillance and case build-up were made and upon knowing that reports are true, operatives of the CIDG Quezon City conducted an entrapment operation resulting in the arrest of Doringo wherein found and confiscated from her possession were the marked and boodle money, her LTO Identification Card, a Student Permit, and a Student Permit Application Form.

Doringo is now facing charges for violation of RA 11032 or the Anti-Red Tape Act.

The government undertakes reforms aimed at improving its public service through promoting integrity and transparency and reducing red taping in all of its agencies, however, some still defy this goal and continue to commit illegalities for their personal gain. When there are illegal activities, the CIDG will be in the forefront to enforce the law and ensure that violators, regardless of their status and position will be facing justice behind bars.
