The CIDG Cavite Filed Unit along with the Metrobank representatives filed a case for Robbery (RPC Art. 293) against four suspects on the ATM Offsite Robbery on May 18, 2022 afternoon before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, Imus City, Cavite under NPS Docket No. IV-03-INV-22E-2041.

The suspects were identified as Gerald Tangalen BAWAS, Alison Ngina ALIGAN, Brylle Basingan BAWINGAN, and Jay-Ar DabudabQUITOYAN, who, according to the complaint lodged by Metrobank representatives, are the ones who snatched away more than PHP3.5 million pesos from their offsite ATM in Cavite.

Investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the suspects were seen in an eatery beside the Emilu Supermarket in Brgy. Mulawin, Tanza, Cavite and were observed by one of the witnesses to have been in a serious talk with one another. Then, on the dawn of October 30, 2021, another witness saw Bawas waiting in a van near the said supermarket. Sometime later, three sweaty men approached him then boarded the said van and left in a hurry. In the witness’ statement, he thought that the suspects were construction workers for they were carrying a crowbar and bags.

The following day, the ATM cash vault was found to be opened forcibly and was emptied. Tanza police were able to get ahold of the witnesses and through the rogue gallery, they positively identified the suspects as the same people they saw before and after the robbery incident. The Metrobank then sought the assistance of the CIDG.

The CIDG assures the public as well as the complainants that they will keep track of the said case until the court issues the warrants against the suspects up to its resolution.
