The CIDG identified the suspect as Fire Officer 1 KARLA BAKUN RODRIGUEZ, a 29-year-old member of BFP Guiuan Fire Station who was arrested while in the act of receiving the entrapment money amounting to Php51,000.00 from a BFP applicant.

Seized from Rodriguez’s possession were the boodle money, Php1,000.00 marked money, and a cellular phone.

Based on the complaint lodged by a female applicant, the suspect promised her an entry position into the BFP service in exchange for money amounting to Php150,000.00. The complainant already deposited an initial amount of Php60,000.00 via GCash under the account name “KARLA R.”
