Operatives of the CIDG based in Region 1 launched its anti-criminality campaign against persons wanted by law on Thursday, July 21, 2022, which resulted in the arrest of two (2) Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and one (1) other.

At around 12:50 PM in Brgy 25, Santa Cayetana, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, detectives of CIDG Ilocos Norte PFU and local PNP units arrested ERWIN TADIO SANTOS, a 31-year-old accused for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) under the Warrant of Arrest (WOA) issued by Hon Francisco Roberto Dauz Quilala, Presiding Judge of RTC, First Judicial Region, Branch 14, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Santos is listed as the No. 1 MWP in Ilocos Norte and is included in the Top 10 Regional Level High-Value Individuals and Priority List on Illegal Drugs. He is also a member of the “Diaz Group” engaged in the proliferation of dangerous drugs and carnapping activities operation in the said province and nearby provinces.

Meanwhile, at about 1:00 PM in Brgy. Dilan Paurido, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, 43-year-old LOVELITA CABALLA GUMTANG was arrested by elements of the CIDG Pangasinan PFU and Urdaneta CPS during the service of a WOA for violation of the SSS Law issued by Hon. Elizabeth Lacanilao Berdal, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 47, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

And at about 5:00 PM in Brgy. Cabilaoan, Laoac, Pangasinan, the CIDG Pangasinan PFU and Laoac PS arrested 24-year-old JANN HAROLD BALITON a.k.a. "Hannah" who is listed as the No. 1 Provincial Level MWP in Pangsinan and wanted for the crime of Qualified Theft (Art 310 of RPC) under the WOA issued by Hon. Crisma R. Vismanos-Nabua, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 73, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

All arrested persons are now under the temporary custody of the respective arresting PNP units prior to the return of the WOAs to the issuing courts.

These accomplishments of CIDG Region 1 reaffirm the public its commitment to serving and protecting the people from lawless elements, wherever they may be hiding. The CIDG will never stop to trace their whereabouts and have them accountable for their crimes.
