6 April 2021 – Three individuals were apprehended while several guns, ammunitions and shabu were seized by the CIDG during their operation in Caloocan City.

The elements of CIDG CAMANAVA arrested accused/escapee Danvel MOSDESTO y Claveria (18) by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of R.A 10591 and R.A 9165. David LAYUG y Manzo (46) and Maria Teresa CAPISTRANO y Cubillas, at 1268 A Mabini St. Brgy. 21, Caloocan City, were also arrested while in possession of unlicensed firearm and illegal drug, respectively.

The following were seized during the search under proper receipt and inventory in the presence of Barangay Officials of said locality and media representative:

1. One cal. 38 revolver, loaded with five live ammunition
2. One cal. 22
3. Five live ammunition
4. Twelve plastic sachets of shabu (A total of MOL 15 grams of shabu with DDB value of Php102, 000.00.)

COMMANDO CRIMINAL GANG member MODESTO was convicted by the proper Court for Violation of Sec 11, RA 9165, but escaped from a Correctional Institution in Tanay, Rizal while serving his sentence in 2011. LAYUG and CAPISTRANO were both positively identified by Barangay Officials as co-principal suspects with MODESTO in the robbery hold/up, akyat bahay and drug pushing activities in 4th and 5th Avenue, Barangay 21, A Mabini St., Caloocan City.

While the entire NCR is still under ECQ, the CIDG continues its pursuit of lawless elements. “As the entire PNP looks after the welfare of citizens against COVID19, your CIDG ensures safety and protection of our communities from crime and criminals,” says CIDG Director PMGEN ALBERT IGNATIUS D FERRO.
