Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in its continuous hunt for wanted persons were able to apprehend a supposed business partner on September 12, 2022, at about 04:30 PM at Brgy. Bangkal, Makati City.

CIDG Baguio Field Unit, along with other operating units, arrested SANTOS MEDINA MAPALO by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest (WOA) for the case of Estafa, issued by Hon. Emmanuel Cacho Rasing, Presiding Judge, RTC, FJR, BR 3, Baguio City, dated November 7, 2018, docketed under Criminal Case No. 41957-R with bail bond recommended.

The complaint traces back between November 2017 and March 2018, when the above accused convinced and deceived the complainant to join his local business partnership in the Philippine Communities Clean Energy Solutions Co. by pretending to have authority to do business/transactions and showing a US Federal Treasury Check worth 17.5 billion US Dollars as proof. The said business is intended to operate, develop, and generate electricity.

Accordingly, the complainant gave the accused a total of PHP4,060,000.00, which was meant for the business but never materialized.

The arrested wanted person is now under the custody of CIDG Rizal PFU for documentation prior to the return of the warrant to the issuing court.
